It was the first time I’ve tasted this sweet delicacy that is just so yummy. They call it Bibingkang Pinipig. What do you know, our place is Cainta is known as the Bibingka Capital of the Philippines and they sell a lot of rice cake in different variations. Perfect for that hot cup of coffee or green tea.
Reblogged this on DREAMS AND ESCAPES.
Oh, I’d love to try this!
That would be nice, it’s truly yummy 🙂
Yum, I’ve made this once before. Maybe it is time to make it again, if I could find pinipig at the Filipino store.
I don’t know how to make bibingka but I tried biko and it was yummy. Do they also sell pinipig there?
Looks like a delicious cake Arlene. I had some cake in Malaysia once, that was green in colour. It was the lightest sponge I ever tasted, and I think it was dyed with a green plant. Do you know this one? You may not have it there though.
Best wishes from England. Pete.
It is yummy Pete, but this one is not dyed though, it comes from a rice variety which we call “malagkit” and when it is processed, it is called “pinipig”.
